Speech - Why Reading Is Important.

Speech On Why Reading Is Important

Reading, most kids love to read but most hate it just because they think the book  looks boring. But really, is reading  as boring as we all think? Let me explain.

We depend on reading to help us with any obstacle in life just like school, a job and speaking in public. If there was no one to help us in  reading, then where would we end up in life? Reading is probably the most important subject that we need to learn in school and without it no one would learn anything about our world or the people who make us who we are today. Think of anyone you love to watch, listen to or even read about they all read either paperwork, lyrics or a script for a tv show/ movie. They all had to read so if you're thinking when I grow up I don’t have to read anything well your wrong reading is used in our everyday lives for as long as we live. So don’t think you can’t just read for one day.

Secondly if you think that reading doesn’t help you at all, actually  you’re wrong again reading helps you grow and become more mature than you were before. Trust me, if you keep on reading  maybe a little book a day or a big book that you try to finish by a set time it can really do you good. It definitely helps you in school and what you can accomplish there, it’s just about believing in yourself and never giving up on something such as a book.

For my last reason where would you be if there wasn't any reading? We wouldn’t know how to read the signs while driving or crossing a street, there wouldn’t be anyone to build the houses we live in we especially  wouldn’t know how to speak properly or even do anything in life. There would be nothing if no one knew how to read so do you think reading is important now?

I hope my speech has encouraged you to read more books and to never give up on reading.
